Where and what are you farming?
We are now Sheep and beef farming at Springfield. Moved here from Hawkes Bay just over two years ago and reestablishing ourselves here. Have a smaller block of our own and a home base so will never be without a base if a job were to end like many managers find themselves in sadly. We have a business where we (Paddy, my husband) contracts his labour and dogs out to other farmers.
What year, make, and model is your trusty ute?
A 2017 Isuzu Dmax
What’s your favourite feature (or quirk) about your ute?
The dog box and stereo. The dog box involved a journey from Hawke's Bay to Balclutha to pick it up, with a trip over the Rainbow road (Molesworth) to get it. It's not so much the dog box but what's in it- the dogs, all I have reared from pups and the roadies we get to go on with them (dog trialling)
As for the stereo - what's a roadie without decent sounding music?
What song is always on your playlist when you’re behind the wheel?
The best roadie always has tunes by Matchbox 20, Kings of Leon and The Feelers
What’s your ultimate roadtrip snack when you’re out on the farm or heading to town?
A really bad vice of eating and driving is the milkshake lollies and a decent coffee
What’s always rolling around in the back seat or tray?
Dogs in the dog box, and my water bottle in the back seat, along with jackets, dog ropes.
